Current school project Sierra Network is sponsoring in Waterloo since 2017
Sierra Network is embarking on a project to raise funds for Step Forward Academy which is a school within the Waterloo community in Freetown, Sierra Leone. This school provides education to nursery, primary and secondary school children having a total of about 150 students enrolled at the school.
The students attending this school are from very deprived families who struggle to pay their children school fees but would like to break the cycle of illiteracy and poverty in the lives of their children. The school is not currently in receipt of government funding and all the teachers are volunteers who are very passionate about their job and would like to make a difference in the lives of these deprived children. At present, the school requires financial support to continue running and serving the children in the community
In light of the above, Sierra Network would like to raise funding of at least $10,000 towards paying the rent of the building which the school occupies and stipend towards the volunteers whilst awaiting approval for funding from the government. We also welcome donation of books, stationery, toys and educative materials which could be of benefit to the children at the school.
In addition to the above, Sierra Network would also like to raise funds towards logistics in the form of equipment for the radio station in its effort to continue to provide an excellent service to the diaspora community.
We thank you in advance for your support towards this worthy cause and look forward to receiving your donations
